Kilian's Robot Shop of Horrors - 01/24/2003
I added test point wires to one of my (Jeff) motor controllers. |
Here is the Earth Explorer ready for testing. |
The signals look like this with no load on the motors. Bottom trace is the forward signal. The top trace is the motor voltage. |
When I apply a load, I get a ringing in the bottom drive signal. When it get big enough the motor output starts banging on and off. |
This is a zoomed in view. |
This looks like an image from my laser ranging system. The blue is the detected objects. The red is the intensity of the signal. The yellow is the previous scan range data. |
Jeff playing with some software. |
Alan playing with some software. |
The mill I found at a surplus store. It didn't have any motors when I bought it. |
We added a Z stage that Alan had. |
I used square piece of plexiglass to make a stepper motor adapter plate for the side motor. |
I used two pices of PC board material to make an adapter plate for the rear stepper motor. |
You can see how the side motor drives the carriage with a lead screw. |
Side view. |
Alan was writing software to drive the mill. This doesn't look quite right yet. |
This is getting closer. But the circles aren't going the right way. |
It is driving the mill. But the circle are still goofy. |
Now they look right. |
The image on the left was drawn by the mill. The image on the right is the original CAD image on the computer screen. |
