Kilian's Robot Shop of Horrors - 09/07/2001
We started by working an a car. Turning the radio up did not make the sound go away. |
Alan's second scooter to be motorized. |
Peter is testing the rolling quality of the scooter. |
These are the $40 EV-Warrior motors from www.meci.com. |
We had to open the motors to grind off the grounding tab. Greg Schaefer warned us about this one. |
Here we are grinding the brass tab off with a Dremel tool. |
Peter is doing the reassembly. |
Peter took this picture of a crazy guy. |
And he took this picture of another crazy guy. |
After we drilled these holes they looked funny. Then we realized it was a heat sensitive label. |
The motors are mounted. You can see how the drive clutch rubs on the tire to get traction |
This setup required extra force for good traction. Alan is getting real good at balancing in wierd positions. |
We temporarily mounted the batteries right where you are supposed to stand. But they look pretty permanet with all that duct tape. |
This is not the recommended way to strip wire. He is using an X-Acto saw blade. |
The current measuring shunt. It is also the on/off switch. [Ron kept complaining about the connection getting hot when we were running 60 amps through it.] |
Ron scrounged these chips from the trash. I added them to my [Jeff's] collection. |
This toad showed up while the scooter was being driven in the total darkness. |
